WIRE EDM SERVICES
Wire EDMs (Electrical Discharge Machine) cut hardened metals with precision. They use electrical sparks to form metal shapes, and so the process is sometimes referred to as spark machining. Another of their many advantages is that they produce a controllable surface finish quality with no additional processing necessary.
As part of our die making process, we use state of the art Wire EDM. It has a wide range of applications, from creating quality control form gages, cutting die shut offs, and shaping die inserts, to simple parting cutting of small hardened parts.
We also offer outside services using the Wire EDM. Our expert machinists can cut any metal to print, within tolerances as tight as 0.0005”.
